The BIG SERVE is coming! The BIG SERVE is coming!

Dear New Life Friends,

The BIG SERVE is coming! The BIG SERVE is coming!

It must delight God’s heart so much to see his people serving others with hearts of compassion.

One of New Life’s core values is “FAITH IN ACTION”. This was a founding principle from when the church was still a dream! New Life was established to reach people who are far from God and one of the main ways of doing that was to put faith into practice.

It’s based on 1 John 3:18, “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.”

We live in a world where actions speak louder than words. So, as people following Jesus, we seek to make sure we are not just giving lip service, but to back our words with action and clarify our actions with our words.

Essentially, for the follower of Jesus, it’s not a matter of if you serve, but how are you serving. So, when we talk about membership, we talk about serving with both hands. On one hand we serve the poor, lonely, least, lost and left out. On the other hand we serve with our skills, gifts and talents. We will not sit on the sidelines. It’s our desire to get everyone connected in a way to make a difference in our community, our nation and our world.

The BIG SERVE is one of those times of the year where we seek to engage all of our New Life friends in some kind of servant ministry. This year we are combining the BIG SERVE as a part of our 20th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. So, on the second weekend in November, we are going to serve on Saturday and celebrate on Sunday. That’s a pretty good picture of who God continues to call us to be!

You’ll be hearing more in the coming days and weeks about our 20th BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION and the BIG SERVE, but I hope you will make plans now to participate in serving and celebrating on November 11-12. You may have to rearrange a few things on the calendar and make a few sacrifices to participate, but there is no doubt that you will be blessed!

I look forward to serving and celebrating together!

Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Mike
