Serve Our Neighbors

We want our neighbors to know that we are #NLforRVA.  Instead of creating new programs to manage we work with our community to partner with great organizations that are making a positive impact that betters our neighbors and our community.  We try to coordinate opportunities to serve with these organizations but we encourage to to serve whenever you can!

For 115 years United Methodist Family Services has been serving our community. UMFS continues serving children, families and communities from locations in 10 cities throughout Virginia, providing residential treatment and specialized education, as well as foster care, adoption and community-based services.

Caritas -

For almost 40 years, Caritas has been helping our most vulnerable neighbors break the cycles of homelessness and addiction to reclaim their dignity. They do this by providing effective, permanent solutions to individuals and families dealing with these issues in the Metro Richmond area.

Home Again -

For over 40 years Home Again works closely those that are homeless to help them secure and maintain a home, again. Home Again runs three main emergency shelters that focus on men, families, and veterans.

Feed 23112 -

Located at Clover Hill High School, this food pantry helps anyone who is hungry in the 23112 zip code. They serve our neighbors twice a month (on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 10am to noon).

Shalom Farms -

This 12 acre farm is just a few miles from New Life and does incredible work to help bring fresh fruits and vegetables to those that lack healthy food.

Open Table -

Open Table is a model where volunteers meet together once a week for a year to help out a person in their community. They talk about their lives and address the problems people are facing. The group forms a support network that can help a person achieve their goals. There is a 6 week training period before tables are formed.  For more information or to get involved contact Maria Maxwell at To learn more about how Open Table works click here -
