New Life will once again participate in Prison Fellowship's Angel Tree program. This ministry helps connect incarcerated parents with their children during the holiday season. There are many ways you can get involved! For complete details, contact firstname.lastname@example.org . We need the following volunteers:
All gifts purchased for our Angel Tree program must be returned no later than December 3rd. Thank you for your help in getting those in on time!
We need 11 mentors total. A mentor promises to stay with that family during breakfast on December 9 (get to know them personally, be there to provide radical hospitality during breakfast, complete the crafts and activities with the child). A mentor also promises to send a letter to the incarcerated parent at Christmas (usually with a picture of the child opening the gift with a form letter using the church's address and name), write the child at Christmas, Easter, and their birthday. A mentor is also expected to invite the family to any New Life events by either giving them a call or sending them an invitation BUT you are not expected to be at the event. Mentors will also call their family the night before the breakfast to remind them about it. This is a great way to share God's light!!!!
On December 8, we will gather at church at 6pm to set up for the next day's function by putting up tables, chairs, decorations, and stations.
On December 9, at 11am, gather at church to clean up and re-set the sanctuary for worship the next day.
