In order to help determine the Vision for the Virginia United Methodist Conference, our Bishop wants to hear from you! Below is information from our District Superintendent. Everyone is invited. If you would like to participate, please contact our Office Manager Corinne Campbell (794-4522 or email@example.com) by December 1 so we can make reservations on behalf of the church.
Dear Richmond District Clergy,
I pray that you are doing well as we prepare for Thanksgiving and Advent. It is hard to believe how quickly this fall season has moved!
Please allow me another opportunity to remind you and your people of our upcoming “Chat and Chew” with Bishop Lewis. As you know by now, we will be meeting at Woodlake UMC on Sunday, December 11th. Clergy will be meeting from 2:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon, dinner will be served between 4:30 and 6:00. Laity will be gathering from 6:15 until 8:15. Thank you in advance to all our clergy and key lay leadership from each congregation for being there! Additional laity are welcomed and encouraged to join this opportunity to meet with our new Bishop as she gets to know the great people of the Richmond District!
We are looking forward to hosting a substantial number of folks for dinner. The dinner is an important part of this event and we anticipate that all will either stay for or come early to this fellowship time around the tables with our Bishop. It will be extraordinarily helpful to us if you send us the number of people from your congregation that will be attending the session. Reply by email with the number attending from your church to RichmondDistrict@vaumc.org or by calling 521-1124 no later than 12 noon, Friday, December 2.
We hope that each person attending dinner will make at least a $10 donation to cover the expense of the meal. Make checks payable to Richmond District UMC, memo: Chat & Chew.
Thank you in advance for joining us on December 11th and thank you for all you do!
Richmond District Superintendent
