CARITAS is Richmond’s largest emergency shelter, providing beds for up to 110 people per night with the help of 15,000 volunteers and 155 host congregations. CARITAS works to help homeless individuals and families have meals and a warm place to stay while they work on getting permanent housing.
New Life is once again serving as a host congregation for CARITAS during the week of December 6 – 13. Our mission and opportunity is to help those who are in housing transition. We will need all hands on deck to provide radical hospitality to our guests. Here are some of the ways you can serve:
- Set up December 6th at noon
- Clean up December 13th at 9am
- Food donations
- Breakfast, lunches, and dinners need to be made for 35 women each day
- Laundry 3 times during the week and towels everyday
- New Life folks to stay over-night to provide a presence in case anything is needed
