Jesus said that our hearts are set one whatever we treasure. Is God the one our hearts treasure most? In this series, we are going to take a closer look at David, someone in the Bible who was “After God’s Own Heart.” By reading and reflecting on God’s Word through David, we will grow in understanding what actually commands our attention. We will review elements of 12-step recovery along the way to help us discern more clearly between the self-serving motives that Christians stumble over and the more self-giving virtues that the Holy Spirit inspires. Furthermore, we are going to look towards the future, like David did, to ensure that generations to come will know the goodness of God that is most richly experienced through a local church.
